"Tucked away by a lake", this "peaceful getaway" offers spa services and a golf course in a "parklike setting"; recently "remodeled rooms" still boast old-fashioned decor, which some call "stately" and others find "dated and heavy looking" (baths are also "a little shopworn"); for the most part, the staff is "friendly and helpful", if a little "poorly trained", but the on-site restaurants win scant praise for "overly salted" food and slow service.

The hotel is in a lovely location away from traffic.
The rooms are a little dated but clean and neat.

The room had two full sized beds. My husband is a tall large man and a full bed was a bit too small for two adults. We had 4 people to room so a queen room would not suffice and two rooms on a budget wasn't an option at this time. ...read more

Vvery attractive surroudings - lake.
Ii'm not fond of the dark paneling, but some folks would like it.

Nice and clean which are my priority. I asked for a room away from the stairwell and received what I asked for. The hotel is non-smoking all over, so there wasn't a smoke smell anywhere.

Beds are awful room is so outdated. TV is very old and for the second time I have stayed at this place, didn't work!

This place has so much potential, location. Unfortunately they are not updating to keep up with competition. There was a plug-in air freshener fumigating my room and a migraine, but I could not find where it was plugged in! I could not sleep, woke up in the middle of the night with the headache and had to find this horrible overpowering air freshener. I finally found it and threw it out my door, later to see it plugged in the hallway. ...read more

Room was smelly and thin walls so noisy.

I would not recommend this hotel. It was not a resort type of place and doesn't deserve rating of 3.5. Parking for hotel guests wad horrible during events held at hotel. There should be specified parking for guests instead of having them park far behind the back building. Not very safe. ...read more

The room we used for conferencing had not been cleaned well. A fashion show occurred the night before.

The setting was lovely. We could not eat lunch in the dining room
